looK INside is a 2.5D narrative game based on the palpable interactions that the player makes in a book summarizing in images and texts the life of a French family at different times and periods of their members' lives.
The player is placed in the shoes of a descendant of a French family of which he knows little. By discovering a book in the attic of his parents' house, he will be immersed in stories of lives.
The objective for the player is to get to know his family through all the periods in which he has not known and to reconstruct a complete family tree located on the first page of the book.
We offer a fable about transmission and memory, mixing literary and graphic arts and giving an air of poetry to those people we know so well and so badly at the same time.
We do not want to make looK INside a detective game; no mystery, no heavy family secret, we want to give the family an air of truth and simplicity. Our ambition is to give the player a tailor-made experience with several means of solving small playful puzzles based on the reaction that the objects of the game have to the actions of the player.
The originality of the project lies in its approach to storytelling based not on the monitoring of a linear grid but on the exploration of very simple worlds and for as much enchanting as great adventures away from home. The 2.5D makes it possible to immerse the player in the heart of his action, which is an essential point of interest of the game.
We wish to make KIN a homecoming, a tribute to those men and women who have made us as we are, with their qualities and their defaults but especially with their humanity.
